🥢 The Story of Phood Chatswood — More Than Just a Meal

Before we were Phood, we were Golden Bo—a humble Vietnamese eatery tucked away on Victoria Avenue, serving the Chatswood community for nearly three decades. That was about 27–28 years ago. Nine years back, we moved to our current spot and gave ourselves a fresh name: Phood. It’s playful, simple, and speaks to what we love most—sharing good food.

About six or seven years ago, Phood officially came to life. And two years ago, Sunny, our current owner, stepped in with a big heart and a clear vision: to keep the soul of Vietnamese cooking alive while making it accessible and exciting for everyone, especially our Australian neighbors.

Today, Phood is more than just a restaurant. It’s a celebration of Vietnam’s culinary map—with over 100 dishes from North to South, each one carrying the flavor, memory, and story of its region. Whether it’s a comforting bowl of phở, a crispy bánh xèo, or a refreshing plate of gỏi cuốn, every dish is a piece of home.

But what truly drives us is the joy of storytelling. Through food, we share the history, culture, and warmth of Vietnam—not just with those who grew up with it, but with anyone curious to learn, taste, and connect. We love seeing Aussies discover new flavors, ask questions, and come back with friends.
